A generic Kan-o-tuna. Not mine. All stock. |

I rode the blue behemoth to the track in October, 97 for the Penguin School. It was cold. The rented leathers were really ugly, but I was hooked (see below). |

The same photo as above, but somewhat bigger, and in .gif format, instead of .jpg format. |

Here's the Katana, wearing a seat newly refurbished by Sargent's Cycle (in Florida); note the missing cheesy aluminum railing things below the seat, the missing chin fairing and rear fender make for a clean line, and the flush-mount mini-wing lamps. |
|
Here's a closer shot of the dual-filament mini-wing lamps I put on the blue-behemoth's butt. I wired them up with running lights and turn signals. They increase visibility, but the running lights reduce the contrast (and visibility) of the turn flashers, I think. Two separate lamps would be more better. They are useful for reminding me that the key is still ON, when I stop the engine with the cut-off switch. The down side is that I blow a running lamp filament about every 2500 miles. I carry spares. |

Here's one of the bar-end weights I machined from steel. I dipped them in blue "Dip-It" which works ok, but wears off where my hands rub them. They don't seem to make much difference to the bar vibes. But it was a fun exercise. I had to make new end weights because the OEM units would not accomodate the squooshy cruiser-grips I like. |

The Kat, as rendered by my boy, Tim. He drew it by memory after not seeing it all winter! He can hit a ball, too! |

Tim and I did the '97 NHMRO Toyrun. It was cool riding with all those bikes, but we were in the minority on a sporty-type bike. |

I rode to Ohio for a seminar in July, and couldn't resist a picture of this Mega-Cow, somewhere in PA. Note the Kat's Eclipse tour-bags, the laptop on the rear seat, and tankbag; I was packed for a week here. This was one of the VERY few times the raingear was on the back of the bike instead of on me. |
