Every few months on the EX or EX-race or NCIS-race or NEAR-race lists, someone asks "What should I have in my spares kit?".....As with the "toolkit question", the answer is "Basically, one of everything on your bike or in your shop" (grin).
This list is a compilation of suggestions for a spares kit. There were lots of suggestions, and many contributors. I won't take credit for all of it, but I've not the ambition to weed out everyone's individual suggestions, so it's just one list. I hope noone gets offended by this.

Black Silicone. It works great to keep the above nuts from
falling off, and any other covers on (like timing covers)
and isn't so conspicuous.
Go to Ace and buy an assortment of 6, 8, and 10mm nuts
washers and bolts. Just start grabbing packs, and then
sort them in one of those nice tackle box tupperwares.
